Skiers and snowboarders in Newfoundland and Labrador are anticipating another incredible season at resorts throughout the province. Last year’s snowy conditions are expected again this season with the Farmer’s Almanac and abundant dog berries supporting that expectation.

White Hills in Clarenville is preparing for another successful winter by creating, for those who like viewing the world from different angles, a Terrain Park complete with rails, half-pipe and fun box. The resort can boast of the addition of two slopes, bringing the total groomed slopes to eleven. They are increasing their snowmaking capabilities to provide 85% coverage and they have added Nordic and snowshoe trails to their resort. Ski and Boarder Cross competitions are planned for every second Sunday.

Unfortunately, Copper Creek in Baie Verte will not be opening this season and while Pine Tree on the provinces west coast is yet to open, owner Dean Simon is determined that this is the year we’ll see skiers and snowboarders at his facility. We wish him luck.

Newfoundland and Labrador is a wonderful place to ski and snowboard so plan to visit this winter and enjoy everything the province has to offer. You’ll have a great time!
