CERTIFICATION AND SKIER-IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAMS
4 LEVELS OF PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
The CSIA offers 4 levels of Professional Certification
that develops ski instructors to effectively
teach
skiers of all abilities. Valuable transferable
skills are learned and applied at each certification
level in order
to successfully deliver a vibrant mountain experience for the skiing public.
The CSIA is a member if the ISIA (International
Ski Instructors Association), and as such has
received
international approval for our certification courses. Once you have successfully
passed your CSIA Level III,
you will be recognized as Internationally certified. This opens up new opportunities
to teach in different
countries around the world, and to be eligible for discounts at international
ski areas. To receive your ISIA
pin and passport, please contact the CSIA National Office.
CSIA
PARK & PIPE CERTIFICATION
In conjunction with the CFSA (Canadian Freestyle
Skiing Association), participants will learn
how to
instruct park & pipe skills while improving
their all mountain skiing. There are certain
skill demonstration
requirements that need to be met prior to taking
the course. Please go to the Resource Centre
for details,
or contact the CSIA National Office.
SKIER & RIDER
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS
The
CSIA, CSCF & CASI offer a variety of
skier improvement programs in the form of modules,
conventions, updates, seminars and camps:
Annual CSIA Members' Convention:
Taking place both in the east and the west, The Members' Convention is the
kick off to the season for
CSIA instructors and boasts a strong list of modules, social gatherings and
activities. Look for the flyer to
fill you in on all the details
CSCF Coach Instructor Update:
Designed to refresh your skills and get you set
for the season. These updates take place across
Canada
in November and December
Prep Courses:
Are you taking a certification course this season?
Make sure you are set for success by attending
one of
the many prep courses available for Level 2,
3 and now Level 4. Full schedule available on

CSIA Professional Development Program
As a CSIA instructor, your recall needs to be
satisfied at least once every 3 years. The
PDP is designed
for this purpose and is offered to the CSIA membership free of charge. The
PDP keeps you up to date with
the latest innovations and CSIA methodology. To see when you are due for your
next update, please
check your recall year on your membership card.
